Austin has been woodworking for most his life after having learned from his grandfather. With a background in digital marketing, furniture making has mostly been a part-time hobby for Austin. Although he has made custom furniture for friends and family members for several years it wasn't until moving to Austin in 2015 that woodworking became his central passion. 

Soon after moving to Texas, Austin started the Woodworking Social Club to meet other woodworkers and build a community. After talking to lots of furniture makers about the need for a high-level woodworking education in central Texas he decided to start the Austin School of Furniture & Design.
